Live Chat
Live chat on our website is provided by LiveChat, Inc. ("LiveChat"). LiveChat is a real- time, online instant messaging software that enables our sites’ visitors to chat with one of our financial advisors through our website. Thus, if you “Chat with an Advisor” on our website, your communications are processed by LiveChat. LiveChat monitors and stores your IP address, browser information, operating system, pages of our website visited, and length of time spent. LiveChat stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile to remember your information on your next visit.
Website Interactions
Although we utilize technology to monitor how you interact with our Site, we do not participate in behavior-based advertising. This means that we do not collect or share information about your use of our Site to a third-party in order for them to provide advertising products and services tailored to you. We have a legitimate interest in providing the best experience for our clients and prospects.
Hotjar
We utilize Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize our Site. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us to better understand our users’ experience (e.g., how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and do not like), enabling us to enhance and maintain our Site with user feedback in mind. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device's IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our Site. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf. Employment
If you apply for a job posting on our Site, we collect information necessary to process your application as is explicitly denoted in our application form(s). This may include your name, email address, phone, LinkedIn Profile, cover letter, resume, team interests, active licenses, current employment, and any additional information you choose to provide. Submitting an application is your implicit consent to our collection of this information.
Contact
If you contact us through a form or link on our website, we collect information necessary to process your request. This may include your name, email address, phone, preferred time of day for response, and message or request. Contacting us is your implicit consent to our collection of this information.
Mailing List
If you request us to send you our weekly financial recap, also known as Current Trends & News ("CTN"), we collect information necessary to process your request. This includes your name and email address. If you request our CTN be mailed, we collect your address. CTN delivery can be stopped by following the unsubscribe instructions in our CTN emails. or by contacting our office by email or phone. We never share our mailing lists with any third-party.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland without giving effect to principles of conflicts of law. Venue and jurisdiction for any legal action or proceeding are proper in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland or the United States District Court of Maryland, Greenbelt Division.

SMS Terms & Conditions
SMS is the acronym for Short Messaging Service, a text messaging service that allows the exchange of text messages between mobile devices. “SMS” and “text message” are used interchangeably because SMS is the underlying technology for sending text messages between mobile devices.
SMS Consent Communications:
When prospective clients, clients, or any other persons provide information (e.g., mobile phone numbers) to SPC Financial® as part of our SMS consent process, this information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Types of SMS Communications:
If you have consented to receive text messages from SPC Financial®, including its employees, you may receive messages from SPC Financial® relating to the following:
- Requests to schedule a phone call or meeting
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- Clarifications of financial communications
- Requests for information
- Fee or billing inquiries
- Notifications of matters pending that require your attention
- Follow-up messages to other text messages or emails
Message Frequency:
Message frequency will vary depending on the type of communication. For example, if you are having a text messaging exchange with your Financial Advisor or Client Service Associate, you may receive as few as one to two messages or possibly up to 20 messages in a week depending upon the exchange of information. For example, if your mobile device number is set up to receive messages relating to an appointment, you may receive up to 2 messages per week.
Potential Fees for SMS Messaging:
Please note that standard message and data rates may apply depending upon your phone carrier’s pricing plan. These fees may vary if the message is sent domestically or internationally. Some plans have unlimited messages and data usage for a fixed monthly fee; other plans charge fees when messages and data usage exceed the plan’s parameters. Fees for SMS messaging may vary in international plans. You should understand your carrier’s pricing plan before enrolling in SMS messaging with SPC Financial®.
Opt-In Method:
You may Opt-In to receiving SMS messages from SPC Financial®, including its employees, in the following ways:
- Verbally during a conversation with SPC Financial®
- Submitting a consent form online to SPC Financial® Contact us
- Submitting an email to SPC Financial® with a request to receive test messages
- Submitting a consent form in hard copy or another written directive from you to SPC Financial®
Opt-Out Method:
You may Opt-Out to receiving SMS messages from SPC Financial®, including its employees, in the following ways at any time:
- Enter the word “STOP” in reply to any SMS message
- Verbally during a conversation with SPC Financial®
- Sending an email to SPC Financial® (info@spcfinancial.com) with a simple request to stop receiving text messages
- Sending a Live Chat message through the website of SPC Financial®
If you do not wish to receive SMS messages, you should not affirmatively check the SMS consent box in any documents or forms from SPC Financial®. If you receive a SMS message by mistake and do not wish to receive SMS messages again, you should immediately notify SPC Financial® verbally (telephone or in-person) or in writing (via email or Live Chat).
